Ryanair

Fit for travel or not ?

Ryanair, good to travel with or not. That would be the question. Firstly you gotta remember, its a low fares airline, and that should tell you, in such a situation, you get what you pay for. That is if you opt for the very basic fare.

With that you will get very limited seat space. Comfortable it ain't. Even on a short 90 minutes flight it can feel like sheer agony, and afterwards you'll swear you'd be unlikely to use the airline ever again. You will also be quiet exhausted after such an experience.

But hold fast, and don't disregard Ryanair as your choice of travel partner, as yet. Should you choose to pay extra, approx double the initial advertised price, even then its not a great fortune. If you time your booking well. Choose your departure airport carefully. Midweek travel seems to offer the best value, but be sure to study all the available flight departures to secure the best value. So if you do pay that bit more, you will have more choice, and its actually not, great, but not the worst.

For paying the extra, I always pay for a reserved seat, middle of the plane, next to the exit escapes route. That extra legroom, well worth the cost, allows a person to stretch your legs in some comfort. Not the widest seat, but it will do for a short trip. Added in that price is also priority queue, get on the plane quickly, and the extra luggage your allowed.

Generally speaking the cabin crew's are quiet warm and friendly. Depending on the cabin crew onboard, some will try very hard to push sales of duty free products, for their commissions. Fair enough. But this can be very irritating, as sometimes they never let up, over the microphone.

If you pay the extra, you can also find some extra legroom seats near the front of the plane, and make a quick exit.

The Ryanair website is fast and responsive, and easy to navigate, and prices for the extras, such as insurance, car hire, hotels, airport transfer seem quiet reasonable. Theses services can also be arranged at the time of your online booking. I find arranging the transfer from the airport to the foreign city, most helpful. I do not speak nor understand the French, Polish or Spanish language, or any other foreign languages at all, aside from the most basic of phrases. 'I'll have a beer, Thanks'. 'Ain't you a pretty lady', 'Hello and Goodbye'.

As for viewing signs in foreign languages, you can forget that. It dose not seem to matter how loudly, or slowly I speak in English in these countries, when asking for assistance, 'Johnny Foreigner', just don't seem to understand what I am saying. Bit of a mystery to me, that is !

Ryanair offer a comprehensive array of services. So I will continue to use them for the foreseeable future. Just in case your wondering I do not work for Ryanair. its just my view on how I find traveling with this company.
